PSYCHOLOGICA is a peer-reviewed journal and an official publication of the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of the University of Coimbra. PSYCHOLOGICA exists since 1988 and in 2012 was re-founded, publishing since then, peer-reviewed papers in English and Portuguese. This journal aims to disseminate national and international scientific work carried out in various areas of Psychology, following the highest scientific standards. It equally intends to be a place for the exchange of ideas, problems, and experiences, stemming from the theory and practice of human, social and cultural development. PSYCHOLOGICA is published twice a year, in paper and online, and is indexed in several databases: PsycINFO, Latindex and Psicodoc.

Submission Guidelines
The Journal PSYCHOLOGICA has new editing procedures, beginning January 1st, 2012. The journal welcomes papers focusing generally in the following areas: Clinical Psychology; Educational Psychology; Developmental Psychology; Work, Organizational and Personnel Psychology; Forensic Psychology; Social Psychology; Experimental Psychology; Health Psychology; Psychological Assessment; Cognitive Psychology; Neuropsychology; Psychogerontology; Counseling Psychology. PSYCHOLOGICA invites professionals concerned with these and related areas to submit their papers to the editors. The following types of papers are invited: papers reporting original empirical investigations; review papers, which should aim to provide systematic overviews, analyses, evaluations or interpretations of research in the field and identify issues requiring further research; methodological papers dealing with any methodological issues of particular relevance for the field. Papers should be sent only by mail to: psychologica@fpce.uc.pt Submissions (25 pages manuscripts) should be presented in English or Portuguese, according to the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, 6th Edition. Authors Guidelines 1. The manuscript should be presented in Word format, and should not exceed 25 pages (including abstracts, tables, figures, footnotes and references). 2. The manuscript should be presented in A4 (21x29.7cm) paper, with a margin of 3 cm on all sides. 3. The text should be written double-spaced. 4. The text should be written using Times New Roman font (size 12). 5. The manuscript should be accompanied by a separate document that should contain the title, the running head, name and complete address of the corresponding author and names, email addresses and affiliations of all authors. 6. The first page of the manuscript should contain the following information in both English and Portuguese: the title, the abstract that should not exceed 150 words and up to 5 keywords. 7. Tables, figures and graphs should follow the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (6th ed.) for general style and layout and should be supplied at the end of the document, on separate pages, and referred to in the text. 8. Foreign words should be italicized and not in quotation marks, with the exception of in-text citations. 9. References should be included in the end of the document. They should include all and only works cited in the text and are to be arranged alphabetically and should follow APA style (Publication Manual of the APA, 6th ed., 2010). General Guidelines 1. Published manuscripts are full responsibility of the authors. Psychologica reserves the right to reject manuscripts that the Editorial Board considers as not complying with the guidelines abovementioned and that fall short of the journal’s quality standards. 2. Published papers may be available for institutional repositories, in its printed/pdf version.
